## Unit 1, Functions & Their Inverses

Builds on Math 2 skills moving towards more abstract concepts like polynomial and rational functions. Inverse functions are introduced looking primarily at linear, quadratic, and exponential functions. In addition, we introduce piecewise functions and absolute value functions in this unit. We will look at multiple representations of these, graphs, equations, tables of values, etc.

Unit 1, Section 2;

Parent Functions, Their Graphs, and Transformations

The primary functions we will be looking at, what their basic graph looks like, and what transformations can take place. We look at how these transformations affect the equation and the graph of the parent functions. The goal is to be able to describe the transformations by looking at the equation, write the equations based on the description of the transformations, and know what this does to the graph of the parent function.

We will work with quadratic, exponential, square root, and absolute value functions.
